In the Forecourt

shows my children in their own world: the forecourt to the real world of puberty and adolescense. In the world of children there's no sense of time: they are in the moment, there is no past or future when they are playing. Reality and fantasy are not strictly separated. My photographs do not represent the fantasies, but they invoke an atmosphere which suggests that world of their own. By placing them in a specific environment and by the way in which light and darkness play their role, the photographs tell us about these children’s inner being.
