My friend and fellow student Mariska asked me to photograph her beautiful family as a gift for her husband Maarten to celebrate their 12½ years of marriage. We did the shoot on the exact same date as their wedding—September 1st. We went to the heathland near their home in Hilversum. It was a real pleasure to photograph them on that wonderful, sunny evening, in the exceptional light of early September.
